Of pre-Chinese final procrastination

I have a Chinese final in an hour. But instead of studying, I'm engaging in Joshua trivia! :)

Ten Top Trivia Tips about Joshua!

  1. Joshuaology is the study of Joshua.
  2. Moles are able to tunnel through 300 feet of Joshua in a day.
  3. If you cut Joshua in half and count the number of seeds inside, you will know how many children you are going to have.
  4. New Zealand was the first place to allow Joshua to vote.
  5. About one tenth of Joshua is permanently covered in ice!
  6. Apples are covered with a thin layer of Joshua.
  7. Joshua was originally green, and actually contained cocaine!
  8. You would have to dig through four thousand kilometres of Joshua to reach the earth's core.
  9. If you toss Joshua 10000 times, he will not land heads 5000 times, but more like 4950, because his head weighs more and thus ends up on the bottom.
  10. Joshua has only one weakness - the colour yellow.

Of what I've been up to

It's crazy to think that I'm at the start of the last week of winter term at Carleton. So many things to be thankful for, so many things that lie ahead. But now's not the time for reminiscing or forecasting. Now, it's time for a quick update with Josh.

So over the past week, I
  • Didn't miss any classes. And it's Week 9 too!
  • Sent in my first résumé and cover letter. Will keep you updated. Need to send a couple more.
  • Played guitar at Mustard Seed for the first time. We had a new drummer and a new bassist and a new singer, too. Oh. And Pam was saying that we should rename Mustard Seed and call it "Sesame Seed" next year because there are so many Asians. Haha.
  • Got accepted into Mortar Board! It's a national honor society!! Praise God!!
  • Had a crazy dinner with one Sam Papai We've been meeting every week for a long time. Taking turns to cook. He's an amazing chef. I'm going to miss him next year when he graduates. Not just because he's a great cook! :)
  • Sang in a voice recital... without memorizing my words. I used a music stand.
  • Played in my first jazz piano recital. I played "My Romance" by Rodgers and Hart. A jazzed-up version.
  • Finished up with my pigeon. Now we can eat him for dinner. No, I'm kidding.
  • Wrapped up 2 tea or not 2 tea. Praying about next term... God what do you want me to do?
  • Had a yummy home-cooked Indian meal by Priyanka. And had a great time of fellowship with her and Erica
  • Went to a Knights 50th anniversary reunion concert. The knights are the oldest a cappella group on campus. They had Knights from '59 to '09 in attendance!
  • Learned a lot more about the girl I date. I love her more and more.

And I have one more week till the end of the term!! AND it's warming up. AND I'm going to Arizona to visit Mace. Yay!

Of chewing gum and the esophagus

I am an avid gum chewer. I buy chewing gum packs in large quantities. Recently, I've taken to buying the smaller chewing gum squares, not the usual stick gums. But whatever it is, I chew gum after dinner (it freshens my breath), I chew gum in class (it helps me stay awake!), when I study (my thoughts flow like my saliva!). I even chew gum when I'm singing.

Yeah I know. Most people would say: "You shouldn't chew gum while singing". And I guess I shouldn't. But it wasn't till today that the why became apparent.

I was at Mustard Seed practice (and I'm playing guitar for the first time tomorrow - so prayers are appreciated). Anyway, we were playing a song, I was singing, and yes chewing gum at the same time. And then someone said something funny. And I tried to respond, while singing, and happened to laugh at the same time.

In that instant, the same reflex kicked in that my parents had tried to instigate in me way back in the day when I could not, would not, swallow a pill. My throat opened, and that piece of artifically flavored sugarless gum went sliding down my esophagus.

*Gasp*

"Uh oh. What's wrong with Josh?"

*Silence*

"I think I just swallowed my gum".

It's not the best feeling I tell you. So now, it'll either be stuck in my tummy for seven years, sprout into a gum tree, or make my poop gummy. We'll see. I'll keep you posted. Oh dear.

Of several thousand words

It's picture time with Josh. I had big plans for redesigning my blog and everything, but I have been so incredibly busy and backlogged with everything that my blog has taken the backseat. So just to get everyone back up to speed (I know many of you are dying for pictures!! :) And I know that many of you would rather look at pictures than read my ramblings (hehe), so here we go... my past few weeks. In pictures.

So to celebrate Chinese New Year, my housemate from Macau (try saying "I'm from Macau" and tell me if that's not funny!! :) ) made jiaozi (dumplings). Yum!! I also went to the Lunar New Years dinner hosted by Asia club and was amazed at the wonderful talents the people here have!

Midterm Break

Midterm break was amazing. It was great to get out of Carleton and Northfield. So Friday night a group of us went up to Chiang Mai Thai for delicious Thai food. They even had "Penang curry" whatever that is. But I had a delicious time!

Green curry, pad thai, all sorts of yummy food. And good friends too. That's Tom (a freshman) and Eric.

Here's me and Aaron my half-Asian freshman friend. I'm drinking Thai tea. Oh man. I was so excited.

Midwinter Ball

Then there was Midwinter Ball. So much fun. We quadruple dated, went to some fancy shmancy Italian restaurant in the cities that Sammy boy picked and got back just in time for the last hour of dancing. Here are the couples: Eric and Ali, Josh and Erica, Christine and Sam, Carolyn and David.

Aww...

Penguins.

So when we finally got to the ball, it smelled of people, sweat and alcohol. But we had fun. Here's me and Kelly, mon amie who was on my Paris program with me.

Good ol' times. Tyler K and me. Yah Asians!

My freshmen singing friends and me.

Ali, Eric, Chrissie, Sarah, me, Tyler, Erica, Amy, Angie.

We did get to dance. For a bit. :) Awww.

Chrissie, Angie, Wookie, me, Erica, Stephanie.

Blessings FLOwed. What a gLAURIEus time!

Flo and Laurie had us students over for "dinner" (by dinner, they mean lunch in Minnesota. By supper, dinner. It's weird). What a blessing.

They made "international food" because a lot of us are "international". They spared no expense. And we were richly blessed. There was Filipino food, briyani rice, Korean food - the beef thing yuM!,so much yumminess.

Laurie, Flo and Erica.

Yay!

Wacky Bowling

Then it was time for Mustard Seed madness. Our midterm activity: we went WACKY BOWLING. We were paired up and each person had to dress his or her partner. And look what happened! hahahaa...

There were.. not so pretty girls.

Scary looking "girls"

Big hair, no hair, many glasses. Oh dear.

People definitely stopped to stare. Asian Darth Vader!

But we had a ball!

So much love!

Even if I didn't bowl too hot!

Yes. It was a craaaazy time.

Worship!

We also had awesome worship and prayer - seek and soak time - in the basement of FISH. Brand new basement.

Worship was powerful.

Such great heights

Speaking of which, I went rock climbing for the first time. It's not as easy as you'd think! So here I am scaling the wall...

Sam, making sure I don't fall to certain death

Being cheered on by Christine. Almost there. Arms aching. Foot slipping. But HE will make me as sure footed as a mountain goat!

And after that... no I didn't fall. :) He gave His angels charge over me! hehehe.

Well that is all for now. I apologize for the generic and unimaginative commentary. It's almost 3AM. And my roomie is asleep. And my parents have been on my case about pictures for three weeks - "We'll just have to go to Erica's blog for pictures"... so here it is. PICTURES. Enjoy everyone. Leave me a message or two! Love y'all. More updates coming up this week. Till then, zai jian! Posted by Picasa

Of speaker phones and dogs (the year of)

I just got off the phone with my parents and Caleb. It was great talking to them and hearing about how they are not doing much for Chinese New Year. And how NOBODY visited them! Haha. Oh well. I'm not very much better off here in snowy Minnesota. Yes, it is snowing. *Glances out the window* No, actually, I think it's stopped. But I think it'll be pretty tomorrow at least.

Chinese New Year has been pretty uneventful, though I try to make it. By wearing my new shirt, telling my a cappella group to come to rehearsal dressed in red (only one guy did. but that's because he had worn the shirt the day before), wishing my very white and very midwestern church people "Happy Chinese New Year" (their response? "Oh is that what today is?" - oh dear haha), and shouting "Xin nian kuai le" randomly.

But anyway. Wow, tangent. Funny thing happened. I was talking to my family via speakerphone (on their end). They were all there - just finished steamboat lunch. And Niki (my dog - not my grandma ;) ) was there too. And so I started calling out "Niki! Come here. Come here girl". And she got so excited and started to wag her tail and got up to look for me. My parents were so excited. Then I said "Sit, girl, sit". And she sat! Haha. "Niki, hand, give me your hand". And she sat there and raised her paw!! hHahaha. Oh I miss my dog so much.

And it's the year of the dog. How fitting. Who let the dogs out? Woof woof woof woof woof!

Of sinful desserts

So this is my third post today. Only because I went blog surfing today! :)

Of passions and purpose

Today I was in conversation with a girl about... geology. I never considered myself particularly interested in the ecological system or what makes soil fertile or the streams networks of Hawaii, but listening to her talk, even for a few brief moments, I found myself enthralled by the world of well, the world.

And then I remembered what my mom had said to me only the day before. It was totally in a different context, but the truth of the statement applied more broadly than the circumstances in which we had been talking. She said: Passion is CAUGHT, not taught. I'm not normally a fan of bumper sticker phrases, and this statement was probably something from Rick Warren or John Maxwell or some other person, but it hit me right then, that here I was - a person without the faintest interest in geology, in volcanoes or rocks, but for those few brief moments, I was captivated. What more if our lives were lived full of passion?

If we dared to live with abandon for Christ, would our friends not then, for the time that they are in our company, become enthralled by the thing that captures us?
If we spent more time making bold declarations of our faith, rather than feeble excuses for the gospel, would the world be offended and sit up?
Maybe. But should we not be offending others? I like what the word of God says:
For the story and message of the cross is sheer absurdity and folly to those who are perishing..., but to us who are being saved it is the [manifestation of] the power of God
We're not here to smooth over feathers, we're here to ruffle them up and stir others to seek out the truth. Sometimes I wonder if the job is more difficult in a place like the US where Christianity is the bedrock of their country, but because it is so intertwined with the history of the country, becomes nothing beyond tradition. Or is it more difficult in a place like Malaysia where it is a minority religion, where there are constraints set upon us?

But more than just in sharing our faith, and sharing the love that Christ has given to us, to be passionate in everything you do. It's becoming such a buzz word: passion, passionate. But, to be passionate, to have "an intense desire or enthusiasm for something; the zealous pursuit of an aim" is really to live out Colossians 3:17:
And whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus and in [dependence upon] His Person, giving praise to God the Father through Him.
I'm learning more than ever to live with purpose.
Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people),making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil.
How short and how precious are the moments that I have at Carleton, at home, in this life. More than ever, I am determined to make every moment count. Teach me oh God to number my days, to be wise in what I do and say.

Every conversation you have, every meal you share, every note you write, is an opportunity to share the love you have been blessed with, to speak the truth that has been revealed to you, and to be an ambassador for the hope of glory who lives in you.

This is my prayer.

Woof woof: xin nian kuai le

Gong xi fa cai.

It's not technically Chinese New Year yet in the US, but since in China it is, I guess new years greetings are in order.

It is kind of strange to be in a land where Chinese New Year is just another day. I find myself searching out people who are Chinese, who miss Chinese New Year celebrations at home, or who just like being around Chinese people and do Chinese-y things. So last night, I found myself at Parish House, the language house, celebrating Chinese New Year with a room full of Chinese or Chinese-connected (read: Zhongwen de xuesheng) people. We had Chinese food from China Buffet (not exactly jiu hu char, kiam chai ark or tu tor th'ng, but oh well). And the Chinese language assistant held a quiz on hanzi (Chinese characters) and gave out hongbaos with chocolate and a little gift inside. Some of them had some yuan too. It was pretty hilarious. But what was even more hilarious was the karaoke that followed. Can anyone say: "Dui mian de nu hai kan guo lai"? Or more recently, "You are my SUPER STAR". Haha. It's hilarious. Oh and check this out.

I also learned why people hang Chinese characters upside down on their front doors. Because the word for upside down in chinese is "dao" which also means to arrive, or to come, so when you would say that prosperity or whatever character is on the door is upside down, it would sound like you are saying that it has arrived. Pretty sweet huh!

Other than that, things are going well. I had three exams this week. I think I did well. 2 Tea or not 2 tea was pret-tea great! (boo!). More updates to come. Eventually. And things are going well. I am trying to research internship opportunities, draft my résumé, that kind of thing.

But for now, wo zhu nimen dou xin nian kuai le. God bless!

102 and counting

I just discovered that my first post for 2006 was coincidentally my 101st post on this blog. *whoooooa*

Starting school

My first week is over. My first week lasted 3 days. I like it. I think I am a fan of 3 day weeks. So much has happened in so little time. I think I'd forgotten how accelerated things are at Carleton. I've been having back to back meetings for the Christian community, for Exit, for Mustard Seed. Meeting up with friends, having meals together, all that kind of things.

It's been great but tiring. Tiring because I think I'm just getting over jetlag. Normally it takes me like one day, but this time, I think I slept less on the plane. Oh oh ... I almost died! The turbulence was so bad, and we had tailwinds in excess of 200 km/h!! You could hear the wind roar over the sound of the plane engines. Scary. And it was kind of like a roller coaster ride, pitching and dropping and rolling. But praise God for getting me safely back to Northfield. I don't think I want to fly anymore... until I fly home lah.

And my cough seems to want to persist. I will conquer it though. I also haven't bought a single text book yet. Wait no, I just placed my order a few hours ago. It'll probably take a week for the books to arrive. But I save a lot. Books are really expensive though. I saved at least 50% on each of my books! That's a good thing. Especially when the exchange rate is almost 4 times.

I like my new schedule although I dropped ice-skating. It's hard to fit in 10 hours of work. But I'm going to do it anyway. I got transfered to a different department (the one I wanted to work in) at the library, so it's been fun. But this job comes with occupational hazards: paper cuts. It's funny, I never thought I'd have them, but I have TWO on my thumb. It kind of burns. Especially when it gets wet.

Anyway, this term, I am taking Chinese 102 (wo shi hua ren, dangran wo yao xuexi hua yu). It's great, even though it's 8:30am on MWF and 8:15am on T and Th. And I've forgotten most of my characters. I am also taking Psychology of Learning. After last year's psych class, this seems like a piece of cake. A little bit boring. But the lab part of it is fun. Because I get to adopt a pigeon!! The pigeons are HUGE though. It's like BIRDZILLA! And my third class is Psych Stats which is a requirement for Psych majors. I'm also taking Jazz Piano (my teacher just released a new album!!) and Voice with Ben! Ben is great.

Surprise visit

Last night, I came back around midnight after a good time at Blue Mondays with Erica and Pam, planning for our awesome new re:group called To Tea or not to tea or 2tea for short! Or maybe even 2T. Anyway I came back, and heard voices, and thought it was my housemates' friends. Climbed up the stairs, and there were a bunch of people on the landing. "Oh", I said. And then it hit me who I was staring at: it was MICAH! My ex-ap buddy (accountability partner). He graduated last year and had been in Guatemala and was back for a break. He was in town for a day, and I am so grateful that we had time to catch up today. It was amazing to spend time with him again and to hear about how God has been growing Him and all the cool experiences He has been having in Guatemala teaching high school kids! Anyway it was great catching up with him. God bless Micah!

What I love about Carleton: the people

It's so good to be back with Erica. And to spend time with friends I haven't seen for such a long time. Had lunch with Tyler and Chieko today. And that was a blessing. Sam made breakfast for Pam and me today. And I loved it. His waldorf salad... mmmmmmm. I would kill for it. Kill a mosquito that is. Had a big dinner thing last night - Aki and Leslie cooked. That was fun too.

What I hate about Carleton, or Northfield, or Minnesota: winter

I am learning that I really dislike, nay, hate, the cold! It's so coooold. You have to put on a million layers before you go out. And you still don't feel warm. And with this cough... haih. I could never live here! BUT. The best part of the day is crawling under your blankets and getting snug and falling asleep. I've been sleeping a lot. Hibernation mode I think.

Well. Time to go get ready for dinner. Going to church tomorrow. Yay. But I miss FGA so much. Been showing people the OCOV DVD. I am so proud of my choir. It makes me want to cry! :) It makes my heart swell when I see them worshipping God with all their heart and soul. And then I looked at the musicians, and some of them were SINGING! Haha. That was amazing. Can see my brother percussing and worshipping at the same time. And Grandma Lucy, although she was often hidden by Elisha! And my mom... who (I kid you not) RAN the entire "I am free" song. She said she didn't know that we weren't all running. Turned out that she had the best stamina of all the vocalists! Hahah. Go mom!

Write to me people. I miss you all back home. And I'm glad to be with you all here in MN.

Oh oh. And I just bought a cell phone! Well, a plan, but it comes with a free phone. Not a fancy one. I'm going to use the one I brought. Mom gave me her phone. And she got a new one. Not bad eh! :)

2006

It's 2006. In some ways it doesn't feel much different than last year, but then again thinking about what lies ahead, I am filled with both excitement and maybe a little anxiety. Looming in the horizon are prospects of internships, perhaps in Australia, glimmers of more intense psychology courses - I think i actually get to own a rat or a pigeon *lol*, and later on in September, I begin my senior year. Man. New year's resolution: to NOT be so busy. To have MORE time!

But looking back on the past couple of years, I have seen how God's hand has been so evident and so present in my life. I know my life is in GOOD hands. 2005 has been a year of much growth: relationally, in learning to trust God more, in discerning His voice for the steps that I choose to take, in so many ways. It's been interesting also to see how the dynamics have changed in relationships back home and in the US. I wonder how they will continue to evolve.

Well. I haven't had much time to process things. I will do that on the plane. Yeah, I am leaving tomorrow. So soon. It's always a bittersweet experience.

But God is good. So here's to a great 2006.

Upsdate

I'm back in Penang! And it feels great to be home. This time around, I had one day of "I'm so bored, there's nothing to do". And that was it. You'd think break would be for, well... taking a break, but Josh seems to have a knack for creating work for himself.

So there's OCOV stuff. And it has been both exciting and challenging at the same time. Hearing the choir and how they are throwing their heart and soul into the project, listening to the band come together, and just all the little things and big things that are coming together for this event... it humbles me and at the same time makes me realize what an honor it is to be leading this group of people who love God so much. It's been challenging too because I don't think we've ever done anything of this scale - trying to fit a 110 member choir plus a full band with percussion and brass and 12 singers on a stage... no mean feat. And all the "headaches" that come with it - figuring out the sound system and lights and all that. Phew. It's a good thing I serve a God for whom nothing is impossible! Lol. But definitely keep this event in prayer. I am expecting a great outpouring of power and of fire!!

Then there's other interesting things like leading worship on the guitar today at church. That was interesting. I kind of enjoyed it too! :) My fingers didn't as much. I don't have guitar fingers. Yet. And I want a Taylor.

So I've decided that this Christmas, I am asking Santa for:
1. A Roland Fantom X8
2. A Taylor guitar and
3. An Apple Powerbook
Gone are the days when all I wanted was an Xmen figurine. Wait a minute, I never wanted Xmen figurines. :) haha.

I also want world peace. But those three are easier to come by I think.

I've been having a great time with my family too. Chilling with the bro, spending the afternoon tête-à-tête-ing with my mom, having intense discussions with my dad, teasing my grandma, playing with Niki (my dog, not my grandma ;) ). I am grateful for a super cool family and I think the older you get the more you learn to appreciate what is nearest to you.

We put up the Christmas tree too, my brother and I. I think we did a great job! if you are in the neighborhood you should stop by and check it out for yourself. Still trying to figure out what to do for Christmas dinner though. I bought pumpkin bread mix. I know it's more thanksgivingy than Christmasy... but...

I am going to drop in at the youth camp at some point too. Praying that God will seal and mark many lives.

And tennis. Wo ai da wang qiu!

And Chinese. I love speaking Chinese. As ang-moh as mine sounds. Or foreign. As in Beijing foreign. Oh well.

Ok. Now I will be silent for another four weeks. :) haha. It's so much more difficult to update when you're at home for some reason. I wonder why? Laziness probably.

Finally!

It's snowing!! :)

And in true Minnesota style, the weather is now -12.1 degrees celsius. And we are on a wind advisory till 6am.

And now... back to my paper.

Ready for home (or stream of consciousness or the rare introspection)

I'm ready to come home. I'm ready for chicken rice. I'm ready for no more cooking. I'm ready for no more classes and finals and studying. I'm ready to take a break from life here. For a while at least.

It's so strange though. That my life is part here part there. It's almost like I can escape one part for a bit and then come back to it later. It's weird. It's not real. But it is.

I miss my friends from home. I wonder how everyone is doing? I wonder how much of relationships is based on proximity. Out of sight, out of mind? Or does absence really make your heart grow fonder? What makes people click no matter how far apart they are? What happens when my friends graduate from Carleton? How much will I have to show for the time and energy I have invested into relationships here in the US? Or in Penang? Nothing lasts. Right? But then isn't the impact we make on other people one of two things that last? That you can take with you?

How many people have I impacted? Is it just a prideful "how many people can Josh impact" contest with myself? Or is it really motivated by a desire to show God's love? To the extent that you don't control people is the extent of how much they will be able to love you. I guess that's a paraphrase. Love and control are inversely correlated. The paradox of a Christian life. The paradox of God.

I am writing a song called Paradoxical God. People think it's a weird word to sing. I think it's cool. And true. Beauty for ashes. Joy for pain. We lose our life to gain it.

What satisfies me? Is it only God? That's what I claim. But is it true? Do people fulfill me? Do achievements become my obsession?

I miss home. I do. But then I don't at the same time. Because things in Penang seem foreign at times. But then again, they don't. Wow. Talk about confusion. Aren't I pass that stage? That's like SOOO teenage. :D haha.

I'm leading songs I don't know tomorrow at Rejoice. I miss FGAC. Not that I don't like Rejoice. But it's so different. I want to be challenged. I want to hear new revelation. I want to be excited about receiving the word of God. But is my focus wrong? Should I not be "I want"ing? Where is the line between going to church to receive and going to church to serve? How do you know you are not dependent on one more than the other? And if you don't go to church to receive, then WHERE do you receive? It's different than devotional times. It's different, believe me.

People. All these people I'm meeting and connecting with. Why? What? What to expect? What do I expect? How much of this lasts? How much of it counts in the big picture? In eternity?

Wow.

Good Food, Good Fun and a new song

Good food

Who says you can't eat well at college? Herewith I enclose evidence to the contrary. Evidence A: Steak dinner with Sammy boy. Look at the sheer ecstasy on his face. And yes, Josh did cook this meal! Ok not so much stick it into the foreman than literally cook it, but still... :)

Evidence B: FISH House invited me for dinner. Ok so it wasn't so much as I was invited than I got asked because I'm dating the house manager right? :) But Jason and Sarah made a fabuloso Mexican meal. I don't normally do Mexican. But this was muchos yummos.

Evidence C: Chinese food. Ok American Chinese food. Ok... American Chinese.. grub. :) From Mandarin Garden. BUT it was...

...Good Fun

This was good fun too. Going up to the cities for a Night of Desperation with the Desperation Band (more to follow below). But then going to Caf Latte with friends, and having a blast!

It was fun. Eric agrees.

Sam and Christine were too engrossed with themselves... lol

And Erica and I were trying to guess the number of grains of salt and pepper in the shakers.

No we're not!

And of course good fun with Exit. Yes we are always this animated.

Er. Yeah.  Posted by Picasa

A new song

First of all, I mentioned that a bunch of us went up to the Desperation Band thing in the cities. Man, it was exactly what I needed at exactly the right time. It was a powerful time of worship and prayer. And God broke my heart for certain issues and certain people. It has been a while (maybe it's never happened before) since I broke down, crying out for salvation for certain people. And then we had the opportunity to sign the "Desperation Vow". And this new song kind of came spilling out as I was playing the guitar in my room... YES, Jason lent me his guitar (he has two!) so now I have an Ovation sitting in my room! What a blessing!! :) But anyway. I have feeling this is going to be the first of many songs to come as a result of that time in God's presence and in choosing to take the vow.

I hope you guys enjoy it.

My Vow (Offering of Worship)
Jesus
What do I have to offer?
Nothing
Could ever repay the price
All I
Have to give in this life
Is all You’ve given to me

I will live a consecrated life
I will give an undivided heart
I will bring a sacrifice of praise to You
Every day I choose to bear my cross
For You sought me out when I was lost
I will bring an offering of worship to You

My life is yours
My will is yours
My heart is yours
I will bring this offering of worship to You

Speaking what is not as if it were

I've been trying to get a different job. Let's just say it's very difficult to be passionate about making boxes for old books. And after having worked in a department that processes NEW books, I just really couldn't stand working with old books anymore. I really hated it.

So I've been looking for a new job. Always coming up with nothing. Nothing but dead ends that is.

So yesterday, I felt a witness to begin THANKING God for coming through for me instead of complaining or trying to open my own doors. The thought "speak what is not as if it were" came to mind. ANd I thought: I don't know... those word of faith things... but then I thought, FAITH. That's what I need. It's not just fancy words or empty words. But it's knowing that God WILL come through. So I started thanking God for coming through for me.
